He says the goal is to get interest from anybody this season; he’d be happy with small school interest.
“Not yet, I haven’t got any recruitment yet. I know it’s going to come, I feel like by the end of the summer I can at least get some interest from some small schools. I’m playing really good right now so I’m confident I can get some interest, and then some higher interest next year,” said Allen, who is unsure of who he’ll run with for his 17U offseason.
“I’ll be playing AAU, I just don’t know with who right now. I played in some tournaments last year whenever I had free time.”
The 5-foot-11 combo guard guard cited shooting as his strength, and mentioned what it is he’s been working on to improve.
“My role is to knock down an open shot with my quick release, that’s what everybody knows I do well,” said Allen.
“What I need to work on is my mid-range shooting, and probably my defense, those are the two weaknesses that I got.”
With his junior season winding down, we had Allen — PHK’s 84th-ranked 2017 — assess his play.
“I think I’m at the top of my game right now, I’m shooting the ball really good,” said Allen. “And my confidence is as high as it could be.”
