Keyshawn Embery led the attack for the Bombers scoring a game high 33 points. He couldn’t miss from three-point range and had great success driving to the hoop.
With the clock winding down Johnson put the finishing touches on the Putnam City West victory. The #4 Putnam City West Patriots knock off the #3 Midwest City Bombers 77-75. The two schools will not match up again unless it is in the playoffs. On Tuesday night the game had a playoff feel to it.
Player of the Game
Marquis Johnson 2016 PG
Johnson is already a well-known player in Oklahoma, but I had yet to see him in person. Let me be the first to tell you, the legends are true. Johnson may be small, but his heart is as big as I’ve seen. He can score in the lane, shoot 3-pointers consistently, and has some of the best vision/handle I have seen this season. Who ever ends up grabbing Johnson won’t regret their decision one bit. He receives player of the game for his effort down the stretch and his game winning free throws in the final minute.
Putnam City West
Gerren Jackson 2017 SG
Jackson is an incredible player first off. He has the talent and height to do well at the next level. Jackson is a long guard and can finish through almost any contact. He is a great shooter past the 3-point line, as well as having a very high basketball IQ. Don’t just treat him like an offensive player only though, because Jackson can guard 1-3 spots very well.
Nick Robinson 2016 SG
Robinson is an energetic and athletic shooting guard who crashes the boards hard and is tough to finish through on the defensive end.
Greg Thomas 2018 PG
Thomas is a defensive presence and has to be accounted for. He also brings a ton of energy to the floor. Thomas has continued to improve his shooting from behind the arc.
Isaac Leggins 2016 PF
Leggins is a big bodied, but quick, Power Forward. Although he may be undersized he is someone who can get his own offensively. He can finish well and bang on the defensive end. Rebounding is also something that surprised me. He rebounded very well for his size.
Payton Bradley 2016 SG
Bradley had one of the most energetic plays of the game Tuesday night when he barreled into the stands trying to retrieve a ball going out of bounds.
Midwest City
Richard Anderson 2016 SG
Anderson is a phenomenal shooter. He can knock down shots from everywhere on the floor. The thing that makes him not just a shooter, is that he is smart enough to use is shot making ability to get open shots at the rim.
Keyshawn Embery 2018 PG
Embery is going to be a star. That’s it. Okay, so that’s not it, but he is going to be at the top of a lot of coaches lists. Embery has the ability to score in any fashion. His go to move is his step back jumper. If you let him catch the ball, good luck.
DJ Walter 2018 SG
Walter is a long and I mean long armed Shooting Guard who can flat out shoot the ball. If he is open, it is probably going to go in.
Jalen Redmond 2018 SF
Redmond is a big bodied forward who can guard all 5 positions. The more I watch him the more I am impressed by his offensive skillset. Redmond can finish through about any defender.
