His recruitment has yet to actually begin at all (aside from one school inquiring last summer), and the 6-foot junior says that he hopes to gain some attention from at least some small schools this summer.
“At one point my AAU coach told me that Cornell was showing interest in me, but other than that I haven’t heard anything just yet,” said Livers.
“Right now I want to just start out and get some small school interest, some NAIA and D2-type stuff. I’m obviously not ready to be looked at by the big schools yet. And then my senior year hopefully I can progress to Division I interest.”
The 6-foot shooting guard went on to describe his playing style to PHK.
“Athleticism and shooting the ball, and then rebounding and driving are all my best strengths. I’ll usually start out in games by trying to knock in some jump shots, and once they come out and guard me I’ll start scoring in the paint,” he said.
“I’m really working now on improving my off-hand – my right hand. It’s gotten a lot better, I started out freshman year barely being able to dribble with my right hand, and it’s better now. I’m just working on moves with my right hand now.”
Now into the second half of his junior season with the Tigers, and says his main objective is to play stout defense, and priority number two is to score.
“They expect me to score the ball, and play defense,” said Livers. “I’m usually guarding the other team’s best ball-handler, and the other team’s best scorer. I’m mostly a defender, but then I’ll score when needed.”
