The 6-foot-1 guard – a Hoop Dreams product – has not heard anything yet by way of recruitment. And he acknowledges that it may be a matter of his own effort.
“I hope it comes, but I haven’t seen anything yet,” said Guillory. “I haven’t really been playing my hardest, so it’s on me.”
He says he’ll play with Hoops Dreams once again this spring and summer. Where he will try and dazzle college coaches with his shooting and his handles.
“I think I can really handle the ball, and I can shoot it well. I’m also a good defensive player; I like to hustle,” said Guillory.
“I’m continuing to work on my leadership and being vocal on the court.”
According to Guillory, it’s his leadership that his high school coach is expecting out of him during the remainder of his junior season.
“They want me to be a leader, and be assertive on the court – that’s my biggest role. And they just want me to play my game really,” said Guillory, who hopes to improve his effort moving forward.
“I just need to come out and play every game like it’s my last – sometimes I feel like I don’t do that, so I need to start playing like that.”
