Last night Manek hit another milestone in his High School career. The 6’7″ Senior Power Forward shot the basketball through the hoop to score his 1,000 point in his career. When you step back and think about how hard it is to score 1,000 points in four years of High School basketball, it is quite the accomplishment.
Last season Harrah broke through and made the State Tournament for the first time in Manek’s career. It was a special moment for Kellen, not just to make a State Tournament, but because he was able to do it with his brother Brady.
The two have teamed up and become the toughest duo to handle in the state. No team in Class 4A can match up with the height, athleticism, and shooting ability of the Manek brothers.
This season Kellen has improved his jump shot tremendously. Teams can no longer leave him open from the perimeter. In the paint Kellen brings toughness, grit, and determination. He has battled with several of the top Forwards in the state and held his own against each of them.
Manek fits the Oral Roberts mold perfectly at the next level. He will have a chance to be an impact player for the Golden Eagles for the next four years.
Although college is on the brink for Manek, he has unfinished business at Harrah. Kellen and the Panthers have their eyes set on the Class 4A Gold Ball.
