Trae Young has been on another level this year at Norman North. In back-to-back games Young has dropped over 40 points and made it look easy. Tonight, the task at hand will be much harder.
Norman North enters without their best post player inside, Cameron Martin. With Martin out with injury it will make it tough for Norman North to come out with a victory.
However, don’t discount the fact Norman North has Young at the helm. Young will have the ball in his hands and without Martin on the floor he will take more shots, which is never a bad thing.
Young has always had a great jumper from the outside, but this year he has shown he is much more than a phenomenal shooter. Opponents have struggled to handle Young off of the dribble with his ability to shoot a smooth floater in the lane or finish at the rim.
Simply put, opponents have not been able to slow down Young this season. If there is a team that can, it is Mustang with the length they possess. Jakolby Long and Curtis Haywood II have great size and play tough physical defense.
Don’t be surprised if Mustang face guards Young and is very physical with him throughout the night. With that said, Young’s game is on another level. He is ready for the big stage in games the magnitude of tonight.
Playing on the Nike EYBL Circuit with MOKAN ELITE has prepared Young for any high school game in Oklahoma. This season has proven it. Mustang may win the game tonight with Norman North being shorthanded, but expect Young to have a big game for the Timberwolves.
