With two of the hottest teams in the state this game had a many across the state watching.
Midwest City jumped out early imposing their will in transition even off made buckets by the Panthers. Putnam City North was able to recover and get the crowd involved with up and down play of their own. The Bombers still held the lead at halftime 33-27.
Putnam City North struggled to find buckets in the second half largely due to the defense of Midwest City. The Bombers forced the Panthers to one shot trips down the floor with everything contested.
2016 Guard Richard Anderson had a big night for the Bombers getting his teammates involved in the pick and roll and going on to score 17 points. 2018 Power Forward Jalen Redmond was also impressive on the night coming up with 15 points, but struggling at the free throw line.
Midwest City had all but put this one away until the fiery comeback from the Panthers. Micah Speight caught fire after a sluggish start finishing with 21 points. 2019 Point Guard Micah Thomas was big in the comeback as well hitting three pointer in the to raise the heart rate of Midwest City fans.
Perhaps the biggest play of the night came from the collective efforts of Jalen Redmond and Brendan Brown. After Juwan Walker missed his second free throw with the Bombers up 71-69, Redmond skied for the rebound and had it knocked away. Brown dived on the floor and was able to call timeout. The Bombers went on to squeeze out the victory 75-70.
