The Midwest City Bombers took on Jenks in the Semifinals of the Union Jenks Invitational on Friday night. Richard Anderson was ready to play from the get go for Midwest City.
Anderson got going early shooting the basketball very well from beyond the arc. Jenks defenders began to pressure him on the wing, but he used that to his advantage and beat them off the dribble.
He scored in all three phases of the game against Jenks. Several colleges are giving him looks at the next level as a combo guard. Anderson has not made his mind up where he will go, but will certainly have options at the end of the year.
One area of Anderson’s game that does not get talked about enough is the tough defense he brings to the floor. Most of the time Anderson is tabbed with the responsibility of guarding the opposing teams best player. Even if he is undersized Anderson uses his quickness and athleticism to defend at a high level.
Midwest City takes on Union today at 8:30 in the Championship game of the Union Jenks Invitational.
