Oklahoma has tons of prospects go overlooked each year, but small class schools are even more overlooked than most. 2017 Shooting Guard Greyden Steinmetz plays at Fort Cobb-Broxton a Class A school in Oklahoma with less than 100 students. However, Steinmetz could play in any classification in Oklahoma.
On Tuesday at the Tournament of Champions Steinmetz posted 34 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists against Atoka. Steinmetz shot over 50% from the floor and 45% from behind the arc.
He stands at 6’3″ on the wing with great confidence that every shot he attempts is going to go in the basket. It is very easy to see on the court, Steinmetz is a winner. Anything Fort Cobb needs to get a victory, Steinmetz is going to do his best to provide it. He has a decent handle, plays tough defense, and possess a deadly three-point shot.
Steinmetz is not the quickest, but hustles non-stop to make up for what he lacks in speed. Last season Steinmetz helped Fort Cobb win the Class B Gold Ball. This year Fort Cobb moved up to Class A, which has changed almost nothing.
Fort Cobb and Steinmetz are back at it again looking for their second straight Gold Ball. Colleges should give Steinmetz a look after his performances at the Tournament of Champions. The college level of Steinmetz is still up the air. He has proven, despite playing at a Class A school in Oklahoma, he can compete at an elite level.
Steinmetz has had a few schools reach out to him after the summer he had on the grassroots circuit. With another big summer Steinmetz’s recruitment could blow up.
