To add fuel to the fire standing across from Chargois was 2016 Jenks Center Isaac Gilton at 6’8″. Chargois led the Redskins to a 54-40 victory with his key performance.
Chargois started the game uncharacteristically by shooting a three pointer, which he knocked down. If Chargois can continue to hone his outside jump shot, lookout. Jenks had to respect his shooting ability. Chargois took that respect going into attack mode, blowing by defenders, and getting to the line. When Chargois was in the paint he battled through tough double teams against the Jenks zone. With a good entry pass Chargois was able to take a couple dribbles and finish over either shoulder.
Defensive is were Chargois was the most impressive. His shot blocking presence was big for the Redskins throughout the game. Often, when opposing guards drove the lane he did a good job of playing to his size, reaching to block it if he could, and if not staying vertical and forcing defenders to finish over him. Opposing bigs had a tough time battling for position with Chargois as his strength proves to be a factor on both ends of the floor.
Numbers never lie and his were quite impressive on Friday night. Chargois recorded a triple-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 blocks despite leaving the game with injury early in the 4th quarter.
Chargois is ranked nationally ranked in Rivals 2017 Top 150. He is a big time Division I prospect with five offers on the table. Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Oral Roberts, FIU, and New Mexico have each offered. Chargois recruitment could blow up over the next year and a half.
