Deer Creek 2016 Guard Elyjah Clark was hobbled for most of the night after he rolled his ankle early in the second quarter. That seemed to be the only that could slow him down as he still scored 27 points on the night. Clark blew up over the summer even notching an offer from Mercer. He will have many schools to choose from when its time for him to decide.
East Central 2017 Guard Burke Putnam is a play who raised his stock tremendously over the summer and he’s not done yet. He poured in yet another great performance scoring 31 points against Deer Creek in their semifinals matchup. Putnam has the potential to be a Division II or Low Major Division I point guard.
Putnam City 2016 Guard Braden Hudson had a great game for the Pirates in a losing effort. He moved well without the ball and with the ball he thrived taking to the cup scoring 12 points on the night. Hudson has great size and could be shooting guard at the next level.
Bartlesville 2017 Guard Barron Tanner played his role well on Friday by clogging the paint and crashing the glass. He had 15 points on the night and even stepped out to knock down a couple three-pointers. The versatility of Tanner could be somewhat coaches flock to. At 6’4″ he is a Shooting Guard at the next level.
2016 Bartlesville Guard AJ Parker is likely to make his living on the gridiron as he is regarded as one of the top defensive backs in the state. He still competes on the hardwood and does it well. Parker had a team high 18 and hit three triples. He does a lot for this team and will play hard in his final moments as a Bruin.
2017 Putnam City Center Ben Jenkins was visibly fighting an illness, sporting a mean baby hook and an even meaner cough. Nonetheless he gave his team what he had and it was more than enough. He scored 14 points from the field, all in the paint. Jenkins is listed and 6’5” but he looks and plays much larger. He has frame that he use to shield off defenders. Jenkins may be the hidden gem in this tournament.
2017 Edison Point Guard Stefone Richardson played like a man possessed against Stillwater. He is widely known as a three point shooter but in the absence of 2017 guards Juwuan Anderson and Marcus Mays was Mr. Do It All. Richardson scored at the, with his floater and of course he got his from deep notching 4 triples in the game. He already holds an offer from Sam Houston State and with the junior season he is have the offers could start to pile up for Richardson.
2016 Edison Guard Eli Edwards is now all the size that Edison has to offer and he is up for the task. Standing at 6’3” Edwards is often outmatched in the blocks but what he lacks in size he makes up in strength. He poured in a great performance Friday evening with 14 points and a number of key plays to seal the victory. Edwards has potential to be a Shooting Guard at the next level. His final season will be critical as he looks to steer coaches his way.
2016 Bixby Point Guard Parker Jennings had it going from the tip against Del City. He scored 15 in the first period of play and scored and finished the game with 24 points. Jennings is a balanced point guard who doesn’t have a problem scoring or distributing. He has potential to be a great point guard at the next level. Jennings picked up his first offer over the summer from the University of Central Oklahoma.
