#1 Curtis Haywood 2016 Mustang Shooting Guard
Haywood is Prep Hoops Oklahoma’s top prospect still on the board in 2016. At 6’5″ he can do so many things to benefit his team when he is on the floor. On the wing Haywood is a lockdown defender, but he is not a one way player. Since the summer of his junior year Haywood has continued to improve his outside jump shot immensely. Currently Haywood is receiving interest from Texas Tech, Illinois State, Tulsa, Houston, Mercer, Fresno State, Florida Gulf Coast, Western Kentucky, New Mexico, UTEP, and Bowling Green.
#2 Marcus Dickinson 2016 Norman North Point Guard
Dickinson is a very intriguing prospect at the Point. He is pass first Point Guard that is looks to get his teammates involved early and often. On the defensive end Dickinson uses his speed and good footwork to stay in front of opponents. Offensively, Dickinson excels driving to the basket past defenders. Dickinson is a good all-around Point Guard that works very hard. Many Division I schools have reached out to Dickinson.
#3 Elyjah Clark 2016 Deer Creek Point Guard
We have Clark as our third prospect remaining in Oklahoma. Clark is a big time guard that gets to the rim with ease, but is most known for his ability to distribute the basketball at a high level. Mercer offered Clark in July, but signed a guard in early signing period. Low Division I schools should give Clark a hard look with his ability to score the basketball. He holds many Division II offers across the state and a few out of state.
#4 Micah Speight 2016 Putnam City North Point Guard
Speight has continued to raise his stock with great performances for the Panthers. He is one of the most overlooked guards in the state. Some players are just simply “Winners,” Speight is exactly that. Speight is slightly undersized, but makes up for what he lacks in height with heart. He scores the basketball at the rim, from mid-range, and especially well from behind the arc. Low Division I schools should give him a good look. Speight holds several offers from Division II programs in the state.
#5 York Benjamin 2016 Mustang Power Forward
Benjamin is a very raw big man with great upside. Standing at 6’7″ York has incredible hops and has continued to improve over his high school career. York is a big presence inside that protects the rim. Some Division I schools have reached out to him, but Benjamin has yet to receive an offer. Keep an eye on Benjamin in his senior year at Mustang.
#6 Marquis Johnson 2016 Putnam City West Point Guard
Johnson is undersized at Point Guard, but plays with a big chip on his shoulder. He is a dynamic guard that can get to the rim in a hurry. Johnson has been a big part in the Patriots success over the past four years. At the Point Johnson is a floor general keeping Putnam City West running like a well oiled machine. Johnson will be a player who can make an immediate impact on a college program.
#7 Kinzer Lambert 2016 Owasso Point Guard
Lambert is maturing into a big time Point Guard at Owasso. He uses his height at 6’4″ and length to his advantage on both ends of the floor. Lambert can get to the rim with ease using his uncanny speed. Owasso will look to Lambert as the go to guy this season. Lambert has the chance to put up huge numbers and prove his skills to colleges. Keep a close eye on Lambert as he attempts to lead the Rams back to the State Tournament.
#8 Chandler Haley 2016 Washington Small Forward
Oklahoma many times lacks size across the floor, but our number eight available prospect has tons of height. Chandler Haley stands at a legitimate 6’8″ with the ability to knock down three-pointers from deep. Several schools have reached out to Haley in the recruiting process. Lookout for Haley as he could blow up by the time signing time rolls around in April.
#9 Gideon Gardner 2016 Pawnee Shooting Guard
Coming in at number nine on our list of top available prospects is Gideon Gardner. Playing at a small school in Oklahoma Gardner gets overlooked big time by many. He is a sharp shooter from the outside at 6’2″. Next year Gardner will be able to have an instant impact in college. Gardner will attempt to take Pawnee to the State Tournament his senior season.
#10 Tyler Williams 2016 Edmond Santa Fe Guard
Williams continues to raise his stock with the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves. He is a very speedy quick guard who can shift speeds with ease. Not only can Williams score the basketball well, but he is also a good distributor. Williams had a great summer with the Oklahoma Impact. Keep watch on him at Edmond Santa Fe as he will be the focal point in the Wolves offense.
