Recruiting Report: Brady Hays (2017)

<p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Jacksonville 2017 shooting guard <strong>Brady Hays</strong> missed all of travel team season with injuries.  He is happy to be back out on the court and playing in a competitive environment.  This 6’3” shooting guard is best as a plus perimeter shooter from three.  He is most effective when spotting up on the wings and in the corners for three.  Quick release and consistent mechanics.  Still working his way back athletically from injuries.  One to track this high school season as he should put up some spectacular scoring displays from beyond the arc.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The junior discussed the injuries that caused him to miss the travel team circuit with the Illinois Irish and where his recovery stands.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“I had the knee surgery half way through my high school season.  I finally got back for a couple games.  Then had a shoulder surgery back in Jacksonville that took me out the rest of the summer and missed all the important times.  Everything is feeling good now and I am finally healthy.  It has been fun to finally get to do something.  I haven’t been able to play competitive in a while.  It is good to be back out there with everybody.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">He is looking forward to his high school season.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“We are supposed to be good.  We have a transfer.  As long as everyone stays healthy.  Coach is on us a lot harder this year.  I think he knows this our best chance at going somewhere with it.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The junior wing broke down what he does best when his game is rolling.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“Shooting is my biggest thing!  Since the injury I have been working on getting to the basket because you can stop a shooter.  I have to create other things and get to the free throw line.  That was big for high school.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">What is going on with recruiting?</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“I went on a visit to Western Illinois.  I have talked to NAIA Graceland University.  I got letters from Air Force and Boise State.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">He spoke about his visit to Western Illinois and what stands out about them.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“It was awesome.  I really liked that campus.  The coaches are great.  It felt like home there.  It is a smaller place.  The Macomb area is really nice.”</span></span></p>
