Committed
The state’s top prospect Mitch Lightfoot will join one of the most historical programs in college basketball a year from now as he has pledged to Kansas University. 6’11” Brendon Rumel, who was on the verge of earning high level mid major and potential high major scholarship opportunities, shocked everyone by verballing to Portland State a day after they presented him with an offer. Tim Fuller, who will spend the next two years on a Mormon mission trip, has committed to University of San Francisco. Basha High School has two D1 commits as 6’9″ Klay Stall, committed to Utah State University after tearing his ACL in June while 6’10” Devin Kirby committed to Montana State University after returning from a leg injury. As far as small college commits are concerned AJ Elliot, a physical interior presence will head to the Pac West Conference as he has verballed to Point Loma University.
Multiple D1 Offers
6’9″ Wyatt Lowell became a hot commodity among Division-I schools during the month of July due to his size and versatility. Most notably Oklahoma State extended him a scholarship offer. Malik Ondigo was on the verge of garnering a load of offers during the month of July before being slowed by an injury. He still, however, has D1 options on the table.
D2 Immediate Impacts
Brett Morrow doesn’t necessarily have the size to compete at the highest level but his motor will help him to become an impact guy among the top programs in the NCAA D2/NAIA D1 ranks. Nik Mains sports a Division-I offer from Air Force but will have the chance to develop and plays through mistakes for a championship competitor at these levels. Isaiah Jones, Tony Licavoli, and Teddy Allen are all guys with the skills to have an immediate impact while Robbie Wauro and Matt Morgan have the mobility, size, and upside. Lawrence Combs and Johnathon Stevens both have the length, versatility, and motors to be solid four year contributors.
D3 Fits
Davion Green may be undersized but he has a heckuva motor which will allow him to be a difference maker at the NCAA D3/NAIA D2 levels. Will Hannen and Nick Potthoff are players that could also find an immediate role because of their ability to finish on the block and rebound against bigger, more athletic players.
