I watched Desert Edge/La Jolla Country Day, Millennium/Liberty (NV), [program_tooltip program_id='2867224' first='Phoenix' last='United'] (Arcadia)/Long Beach Millikan, Basha/St John Bosco, Canyon View/Village Christian, Liberty/Modesto Christian.

Below is a list of prospects that stood out on day one of the three day event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2345479' first='Milton' last='Phinnessee III'] - Liberty

Phinnessee was super fluid moving on the court which continues to be an evolving and effective part of his game. The improved footwork paid off as he was able to generate extra space by moving defenders out of the paint. This skill allowed his teammates to attack downhill and generate easier looks. He showed patience in the dunkers spot and finished multiple lobs and disrupted the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='2759176' first='Trevin' last='Davis'] - Liberty

In his return to the Lions lineup after missing Section 7, Davis didn't miss a beat. He showed off his skill as a multi-level scorer as he knocked down shots from the perimeter and got to the rim with ease. Defensively, he helped create multiple turnovers both on and off-ball as he denied entry passes and jumped into passing lanes.

Kam'Ron Ford - Desert Edge

As a rising sophomore, Ford shows tremendous upside for his Scorpion team. The guard had 14 points including two threes and showed off his ability to finish at the rim against larger defenders. His skill running the second unit was crucial for Desert Edge as he helped the Scorpions blow out their first round opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='2533594' first='CJ' last='Johnson'] Jr - Desert Edge

One of the biggest questions in regards to Johnson is how efficient can he be as a scorer. On Friday, Johnson scored 20 points to lead all scorers in his game and did it on 8-9 shooting from the field. He showed off his playmaking ability with multiple assists and impacted the defensive end with steals and disruptions on shots. All in all, it was a strong showing for a DE team that is starting to turn a corner.

[player_tooltip player_id='2370259' first='Terry' last='McKinney III'] - Millennium

One of the biggest stars of the day was McKinney who took advantage of being back in his hometown. He looked extra comfortable in the paint as he dominated inside with strong finishes over contact and put back dunks off of misses. The biggest thing that stood out to college coaches was his ability to catch the ball on the perimeter and make a smart decision as to whether he should drive, kick it, or pull up. His 29 points led all scorers in his contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='2412268' first='Maurice' last='Carter II'] - Millennium

After a few weeks of practices and a few up and down moments it appears that [player_tooltip player_id='2412268' first='Maurice' last='Carter II'] has found his groove at Millennium. The 2028 guard showed off his upside as his speed and quick hands disrupted the Tigers first round opponent. His defense allowed Millennium to get out into transition and takeover a once tight game in the second half. Carter finished at the rim with force and attempted multiple dunks and showed off his catch and shoot ability as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146268' first='Brock' last='Knee'] - Arcadia ([program_tooltip program_id='2867224' first='Phoenix' last='United'])

Knee entered the weekend as one of the top performers of the summer and he continued his hot streak on Friday. Knee had 24 points and scored with relative ease. Whether it was driving downhill to the basket, pulling up both off the dribble or in the catch and shoot game, his scoring took over the game as his Arcadia teammates played with a flow and rhythm that was different than what they showed at Section 7 just two weeks ago.

[player_tooltip player_id='2249943' first='Lleyton' last='Leonard'] - Basha

One of the top prospects on any court at Las Vegas Basketball Center on Friday was [player_tooltip player_id='2249943' first='Lleyton' last='Leonard']. The junior-to-be dominated St. John Bosco with his scoring game. Multiple deep three point shots, strong finishes down low, and scores off of turnovers was the story for Leonard. His performance caught the attention of a handful of both mid-major and high-major programs. His defensive skill and length for the position allows him to take away easy looks for his opponents. This showed as Bosco struggled to generate offense all game long and shot well under 25% from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='2552772' first='Tre' last='Terry'] - Basha

The former Hamilton Husky has become a microwave scorer for the Bears lineup in just a short time. As a knock down shooter from deep, his spacing and ability to impact the game from outside opens up the floor for Basha and creates fluidity that the Bears use to their advantage on the offensive end. He shows upside as a division one caliber threat on the offensive end and showed why on Friday.
