Winston Nelson 2017 Forward Norman North
Nelson is rapidly rising up the 2017 ranks in Oklahoma. He stands at 6'7″ and is starting to show off his improved offensive skill set. Nelson is beginning to hit the mid-range jumper consistently. He even displayed his enhanced dribbling skills on drives to the basket. The improved skills on offense keep Nelson on the rise in the 2017 Class. He has a great work ethic and it is paying off. What level Nelson will end up is still an unknown with plenty of time to develop his talents in the areas he is raw.
Braden Hicks 2016 Shooting Guard Choctaw
Hicks is one of the biggest unknowns in the 2016 Class in Oklahoma. He is an athletic freak on the court with great size and a long wingspan at the two. Hicks creates havoc on the defensive end with his length and quickness. There are some areas in Hicks game that are very raw, but in the right situation Hicks could turn into a great small college prospect. Keep a close eye on Hicks at Choctaw this season as the Yellowjackets could be a big surprise in Class 6A.
Kobe Rose 2017 Shooting Guard Tulsa Memorial
Rose has tons of upside at Shooting Guard. He scored the basketball well from the perimeter and used his speed to fly past the defense. The thing that stuck out most of his performance was his play on the defensive end. Rose played stout on-ball defense throughout the day turning turnovers into easy baskets for himself and teammates. Small colleges should keep there eye on Rose over the next two years at Tulsa Memorial.
Isaac Leggins 2016 Forward Putnam City West
Leggins is undersized at the four, but plays his tail off each time he steps out on the hardwood. He stands at a little over 6'3″, which scares some colleges off. However, all it takes is watching him play once and Leggins proves very quickly he can be an effective four at the next level. He is a great shot blocker on defense considering his size. Leggins has turned into a lethal player on the offensive end from inside 10 feet. Over his senior season at Putnam City West Leggins should get some solid looks from small colleges.
Ben Crider 2016 Forward Broken Arrow
Crider continue to impress each time he steps out on the floor. He was brilliant at the Prep Hoops Oklahoma Combine. Defenders struggled to guard Crider with his 6'5″ build. He uses his height and vertical to shoot over defenders from three-point and mid range. Crider could play the three in some systems, but is likely a four at the Division II level. This summer Crider has shown he is one of the top 2016 Division II prospects in the state. Expect big things this season at Broken Arrow from Crider.
Alante Carson 2016 Point Guard Tulsa Memorial
Carson had a fantastic showing at the Prep Hoops Oklahoma Combine. He displayed his ability to do several things at the Point. The athleticism, speed, and decision making of Carson were impressive. Over his career at Tulsa Memorial Carson has been a role player, but expect that to change this upcoming season. Carson is primed for a breakout year with his knack for getting his teammates involved. Don't be surprised when Carson has a big game scoring the ball with his nice jumper and even better drive to the basket.
