The top 10 prospect has taken his first two official visits to Western Michigan and this past weekend to SIU-Edwardsville. We caught up with him to get his thoughts on the visits.
His first trip was a few weeks ago to Western Michigan which he went on with grassroots teammate Jarrin Randall who ended up committing to the program. What impressed him about Western Michigan?
“Great coaching staff. Good guys. Close to family and have an old teammate who committed there.”
He walked us through his official this past weekend to SIU-Edwardsville.
“I first went to dinner with the coaches. Then the next day I watched the team workout and had time to spend with the guys on the team. Then the final day talked with the coaches over breakfast. I liked the staff and team.”
The official visits continue to roll on.
“Have to take a visit to UIC this weekend and after that I don’t know.”
Johnson knows exactly who he is as a player and does his job game in and game out. The 6’7” four man is a bouncy post that excels at hitting the offensive glass for second chance points. At least half if not more of his points come in this fashion. Flashes skill potential, runs the floor well, and can block shots.
He ran with both the Mac Irvin Fire and All-In/Young & Reckless on the grassroots circuit this past summer.
