At Bartlesville Tanner gets stuck in the paint at times being the tallest player on the team at 6'4″. However, with Playmakers Express Tanner is able to work on his guard skills at the two.
?Tanner is a very long, extremely athletic two guard with tons of upside. He has a decent handle with the rock in his hand. Defenders have trouble dealing with Tanner's first step to the hoop. At the hoop Tanner is very tough and finishes through contact with ease.
Playing in the paint at Bartlesville has given Tanner toughness and a nice back to the basket game. In the post Tanner has great awareness. Many times Tanner takes on the challenge of battling taller opponents, but he does not back down.
Tanner bangs in the paint on defense making his opponents work for every point. Although Tanner will be a two guard at the next level his time in the paint will come in handy at times.
This upcoming season at Bartlesville Tanner will take on the role of being the primary scorer for the Bruins. Tanner excels at driving to the basket.
The confidence Tanner gained this summer with Playmakers Express should translate to him showing off his guard skills more at Bartlesville this fall. With the loss of 2015 Point Guard Antonio Castillo, Tanner will have an chance to handle the rock more.
Tanner improved his jump shot this summer, but to continue his rise in the 2017 Class will have to continue to work on it. If Tanner can become a solid three-point shooter his stock will go through the roof.
Many around the state are not aware of Tanner's talents. He is still raw in areas, but Tanner could turn into a special talent at Bartlesville. Over the next two years Tanner has a chance to rise on colleges big boards with his great athleticism.
