Leander has good size at 6’3” and is a long, lanky shooter that can stretch a defense and drive and score if crowded. In my viewings he was the most consistent player for a very good Charlotte Court team and made plays consistently. He’s going to need to get stronger and work on his ball-handling, but I think he has the chance to be a solid player at a mid level division II School.
Leander has heard from Berry College, Centre College, Ohio Wesleyan and Marietta College. He also recently attended Evansville’s elite camp and is hoping to hear from them soon. He doesn’t have any offers at this moment, but is planning to visit Ohio Wesleyan and Berea in the fall. He’s looking for a school that will be a good fit for his game and that will help him develop on and off the court. He also wants the school to have a great atmosphere and quality educational opportunities.
Leander says he’s a long and versatile guard that can shoot the ball and attack the rim. He’s working on getting stronger and wants to continue to be more consistent as a shooter. He also wants to get better at going right so that he’s more unpredictable offensively. Leander enjoyed the summer/spring with Charlotte Court and felt like it improved his game and recruitment by leaps and bounds.
Henry Clay will feature two of the top seniors in the 11th region with Leander and Isaiah Tisdale. He says they want to win district again, win the 11th region and contend for a state championship. He feels like as long as they play hard, play together and use their defense to fuel their offense they can do big things. He’s hoping to have a big senior year and hopes it culminates with a state title, all-region team appearance, all-city team appearance and hopefully some scholarship offers.
