Messmer is an intriguing 6’1” guard with nice length and a confident offensive game. He does a great job getting downhill and attacking the rim, using his size and aggressiveness to create scoring opportunities around the basket. Messmer is also a legit three-point shooter who can stretch the floor and make defenses pay from the perimeter. He plays with noticeable confidence on the offensive end and continues to show upside as a scorer. Defensively, Zy has been focused on improving this club season, and as that side of his game continues to develop, his overall impact and upside will only continue to grow.

I’ve seen Zy a number of times already this offseason and he always performs for The Next Level Basketball Academy 14U-1 team. His 3-point shooting is a key ingredient to the team’s success and he can get them to drop in bunches, at times. He can pump-fake from three and get going and be a threat attacking the hoop as well. Messmer provides value for the squad and its success.
