Cavelli is a 2030 point guard out of North Dakota. He was probably the most skilled player I saw all weekend in the 13U-14U divisions. An elite handle and has the ball on a string. He is constantly making plays and impacting the game as an opportunistic defender that creates turnovers, but his main impact is when he is possessing the ball and is able to dictate the game. His presence and value with the ball in his hands is to the point to where it’s a lost possession for the team if he doens’t touch the ball at least once. He makes things happen as a distributor and can score and get to his spots without hesitation.

Cavelli is an absolute baller and one of the the next up-and-coming point guards in North Dakota. A filthy handle on the ball, that he’ll use to breakdown and then explode past defenders — as well as create space when being pressured. He can handle the ball at full pace and quickness. Has the ability to make a spin move as he’s dribbling the ball. Elite explosion and acceleration with the ball in possession. His court vision up the court and finding holes in a defense in the half court was a trait I noticed. Throws dime and laser passes to teammates that are on target. He’s a zone-buster for sure with his court sense and passing ability. As a defender, he will keep his man in front but he’s also a gambler, trying to get the ball and a steal. He will come off his man to try and dig or create some sort of play on an unaware offensive player with the ball. I don’t know the entire landscape of 2030 point guards in North Dakota, but he’s most likely the top point guard in the class.
