2026 PH Dakotas Freshman Showcase: Elite Scorers

Footwork/Ballhandling/IQ/Deep Shooting Range/Moving without the basketball and understanding spacing are just a few of the strengths that these Elite scorers showed and will continue to show throughout this upcoming basketball season.    Major was arguably the best offensive player for both the Freshman and Sophomore sessions of the day. Has Elite catch n shoot ability with unlimited range, most his makes were highly contested as the Freshman group had a bunch of very good defenders. Middy pull up game was also on point. Love his soft touch in and around the basket, uses the backboard more then almost any other player (a lost art in my opinion). Playing off of two feet is one of his biggest offensive weapons as on rare occasions he is stopped on his way to the basket his footwork is next level (Hakeem The Dream Like) and is able to still score showing a very high IQ 🌟!     Cavelli has the ability to beat Anyone off the bounce in transition or the half court sets. Its rare to see a player do this especially at an event like this but he had no issues showing us why he's arguably the quickest player on the court and that i have seen with a ball in his hands all spring and summer. Handles are Kyrie Irving quick and has excellent finishing moves at the basket with either hand. Can also tell he's been working on his shot as he hit numerous 3's in each game he played. Playmaking skills for his teammates were also on display as when he broke down his defender he continued to find open guys for good looks.     Aggressive minded offensive player who made a ton of tough shots in and around the basket. Played much bigger then his 5'11 and surprised me with his ability to score inside consistently over or through bigger plays. Definitely showed the ability to nock down deep threes also and had a nack for timing his crossover and getting down hill for tough finishes. Was Charles Barkley esk on the O Boards and made the most of his put back opportunities. Scored on bigger guys in the post on nice up n under moves, crafty offensive player.     Carter has a great change of pace dribble and is extremely shifty (Steve Nash like in that regard) does a great iob of getting to his spots on the floor to score and does it often. Great release on his shot and has arguably one of the best shot fakes i saw yesterday. Had several 2 foot paint floaters in traffic. Sees the open spots on the court very well and was one of the best off ball movers of the day. Has a great catch n shoot three point game, along with several transition pull up threes.     Brooks has excellent length and is was a beast on the offensive boards with alot of buckets inside. With that length comes a great advantage if he's guarded by smaller players he will post up and its an easy 2 points, against bigger defenders he showed he can take them outside and flat out shoot the 3 ball 🔥. Very well rounded as he handles the ball better then expected and was able to take defenders off the bounce and finish at the rim with either hand.
