About Zek
Expert Analysis

Mackey is a high ceiling, low floor prospect because he plays hard and scores effectively. Zek is an active rebounder who has the tools to be an impact player at the small college level in the next few years. His offense still needs to grow (0 for 6 from 3) but if he’ll get in the gym, that is very fixable and will only serve to make him an even better college player.

Mackey was predominately a JV player and varsity role player as a Sophomore but with his size and toughness, Zek is showing he’s ready for more. At 6’5 and still growing, he can score the ball in the post and has shown some face up game. Playing AAU through a broken nose, Mackey is proving he’s tough and will not be deterred from taking advantage of all his opportunities.

Mackey is definitely a player to keep an eye on for a potential breakout this season. North Hardin is young and has a lot of depth at the guard spots but not a lot in the frontcourt. Zek is more of a wing at the next level but he should be a go to scorer on the block and facing up this year for the Trojans.

Mackey has a strong build and isn’t afraid to post up smaller players or take opponents off the dribble. His jump shot is still a work in progress but his mechanics aren’t bad. North Hardin is going to be very young this season but Zek is in line for a big Sophomore season.

Mackey was a complete unknown to our staff coming into Saturday but he showed off a good skill set and a willingness to post up on the block or put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. North Hardin is young but talented and will be an X factor in the 5th region this year.
