Scherler is an old school post who has no problem getting in the mix to do the dirty work. He uses his length to alter shots and rebound. He runs the floor and can finish in an array of ways around the bucket. He has a deadly mid-range jumper he can pull out when defenses do not scout it. Scherler is a frequent for 2nd chance scoring opportunities. He is a bit robotic with his movements. He would be a great pickup for a low major.

A towering 6-foot-11 big who keeps the ball high to finish when he gets offensive rebounds and post touches. Good understanding of where the help side defense is coming from and has a willingness to throw his body around inside. Once he gets more comfortable in his body, he can be a solid scholarship-level big.
