had 27 points and 11 rebounds in a win against Etiwanda on Saturday to capture the Division 1 title. Davidson was ultra efficient in this one going 8/12 from the field and managed to get the line 13 times (11/13). Zack, as ever, provided an ultra-steady playmaking presence at the top of key for Mater Dei and showed why he is one of the most skilled big men in Southern California.

averaged 20.5 points this week across Mater Dei’s two games. Davidson has been excellent so far in his senior season and continued his strong run of play with 25 points and 11 rebounds against JSerra on Wednesday night. Zack is one of the main focal points of Mater Dei’s offense and routinely shows off his playmaking ability by hitting cutters and setting up teammates from the top of the key or the low post.

For my money Davidson was the best overall player at the event. If we graded his skill on a video game scale, he would be in the high 90’s on almost everything. His ability to faceup, get into the paint, draw two and kick was remarkable, and made him look more like a big guard, than a post. When he did get direct post up opportuntites, he rarely failed to contribute as he was patient, and seemed to have every tool in the tool shed allowing him to finish with both hands around the rim.

Another productive blue collar big man. The 6’8″ Montana commit plays hard and with energy. Davidson shows a lot of promise as an inside-outside big. Can step out and hit from the perimeter, and also knows how to use his body to score inside when he has position. Finished with 15 pts in the first game to put away Rancho Christian. Did a great job hustling for rebounds, plays his role in Coach McKnight’s offense very well. High motor and relentless energy.
