He put together multiple impressive seasons at Trinity Christian before transferring to 71st HS and leading them to a state championship game appearance. His ability to score the ball in bunches as well as his athleticism are attributes that we fully expect to help him transition to the next level.

He’s known as a player that can score the ball at a high rate, but we were just as impressed with the energy and enthusiasm that he brought on the defensive side of the ball.

Xavier Tubbs-Matthews Xavier Tubbs-Matthews 6'1" | CG Spire | 2023 State OH is a unique guard for Ohio fans because he comes from the south and plays with a unique style and flair that most Ohio guards don’t have. Tubbs-Matthews can be a little wild but when he has the ball in his hands you are awaiting an exciting highlight reel play. An inconsistent shooter, if Tubbs-Matthews is feeling it he can go off but is also susceptible to cold nights from outside. I’d encourage Ohio basketball fans to check him out with Spire because he has a different style of play from most guards that grow up in the midwest.
