Expert Analysis
Devontae Cobb | Prep Hoops Scout
Vincent Green erupted in the fourth quarter, catching fire from beyond the arc, burying multiple clutch three-pointers to either tie the game or swing the lead. Green was lethal operating out of pick-and-roll, confidently stepping into deep pull-ups after manipulating defenders with controlled between-the-legs rhythm dribbles before side-stepping into space for the jumper. Even when blitzed or tightly contested, Green consistently created separation, showing the ability to get to his spot and elevate into tough, leaning jumpers going either direction. His sense of urgency as a shot-maker was on full display, going on to hit a deep-corner game winner as he faded, released, and fell as the ball splashed through the net.

A cerebral floor general who understands the value of tempo control and timing, Green never rushes into plays or forces actions, allowing plays to develop while keeping his dribble alive, calmly surveying the floor and reading defenses before delivering passes with precision. As a scorer, he thrived within the flow, using subtle changes of pace and finding soft spots in coverage to rise into clean jumpers. Green’s ability to operate as a true game manager with scoring instincts gives him value as both a primary and secondary initiator.

actually didn’t start the season on varsity which is even more impressive for him to make this list. As a point guard, he looked extremely comfortable running the Mesquite offense and seemed to gain the trust of his teammates after only a couple starts for them. Smooth operator with the ball in his hands, he doesn’t get to fancy just executes his training and gets to his spots. He has unique footwork for a kid this age, even when well defended he can stop for a long distance floater or hit you with an off balance turn around and knock it down in the mid range area. He also was aggressive on defense recording a couple steals and even a block. He’s already recorded multiple 20+ point games will be elite guard in the 2027 class.
