Merto can play above the rim when attacking downhill, has good positional size for a primary ball handler but is also capable of knocking down shots off the catch as an off-ball wing. Merto’s versatility is one of his main calling cards. Merto also holds a 4.1 GPA according to his twitter bio, which could make him attractive to high academic programs as well.

Considering his recent play and next-level attributes, he could be a player who picks up interest from college coaches during the Puma NXTPRO live period this weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On defense, he’ll likely be asked to cover opposing teams’ stronger players, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him blocking more shots.
