Expert Analysis

Hunter was spectacular in their semifinal victory against St. Anthony recording 17 points, 10 dimes, and 3 steals in the victory. He is a smaller point guard that really knows how to play the game. Slick handle getting through traffic for scores in the paint, is a capable shot maker, has a stellar soft touch finishing game, and plays with great pace. His feel running the show really stands out as he consistently finds teammates for lobs along with kicking to open shooters after drawing help defenders. Active defender that is pesky turning steals into points. Hunter was even better in the championship game as he completely took over in the second half blowing out Eastland for the 1A crown by scoring 17 points in the third quarter alone from all three levels. His passing was exceptional finding his lob threat and shooters. Went for 21 points and 11 dimes in the championship game.

Reads the defense well with the ball and has quick hands to go along with quick feet. Court vision was there all throughout while slicing and dicing the 1 / 2 / 2 3 Quarter Court Trap. Consistent and efficient within 5-8 feet accompanied by a sweet floater and pull up jump shot. Likes to push the tempo and will force teams to play his speed. Sharing the basketball is his forte. Committed a lot towards dribble penetration to make his teammates better. Double digit assists this morning and offensively averages 20+/game. Even with size will get up and force pressure on bigger offensive opponents.

is set to be the centerpiece for the Eagles this season. Despite his smaller stature, Hunter brings an impressive skill set to the court. He’s a confident three-level scorer with a soft touch around the rim, an attacking mentality, and the versatility to contribute across the board. With his varsity experience, Hunter will need to step into a leadership role for a team that lost several upperclassmen—but all signs suggest he’s ready for the challenge.

Smaller point guard at about 5’5” that helped take his team to state this past season. High level shot maker from beyond the arc who has extremely deep range. Plays with speed in the open floor, active hands on the defensive end creating turnovers, and plays with a ton of flair!

TyJuan took over in a hard fought win on Friday night. He was easily the quickest player on the floor and could use that speed to knife his way through the defense in the half court or when pushing the pace in transition situations. He had a huge second half and overtime period, getting downhill for some huge scores at the rim, despite being the smallest player on the floor. Hunter is a true competitor and willed his team to a victory.
