-Love seeing Ayana operate from 18′ feet and in is a prospect that can create his own shot, navigate through tight gaps in the defense to score or draw FTs, and be impactful/versatile on the defensive end of the floor as a prospect that excels on or off the ball. That versatility was on display most recently with a 32p 12r performance vs Clinton Grace Regional. Love see the skill development as a 3/4 tweener that has his best basketball ahead of him

It was a productive afternoon from start to finish for Ayana, who showed off a polished overall skill set as a toolsy four-man. He used his size to his advantage on post touches operating with his back to the basket and comfortably got to his over the shoulder hooks, made a few nice passes to the weak side corner to shooters, or faced up to the rim and knocked down mid-range shots. He was no stranger to the perimeter, particularly in pick-and-pop scenarios where he knocked down his fair share of triples in both 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 play. Ayana was voted to all-first team for his performance.

-Ayana impressed our scouts with his skill level in the halfcourt as a 3/4 tweener that can put the ball on the floor, hit shots with range, and score with beautiful footwork and finishing craft around the rim. Ayana has a great feel for where the ball is coming off the rim and rebounds well out of his area to give his team additional chances to score. There’s also been noticeable strides made to his ability to put the ball on the floor to take it coast to coast– even against guards–and he has made changes to his diet/exercise routine to trim down and improve his endurance throughout the game.

-Another skilled W/F tweener that has impressed our scouts over the past few months with pretty consistent near double-double performances with Avalon. Ayana has a polished midrange jumper off of face-ups and scores it well around the basket with either hand and a nice bag of finesse moves. Want to see his burst off the bounce improve as well as adding in some upper body strength to allow him to finish over bigger, stronger opponents as Avalon will likely play some tougher non-conference opponents this season. Love his upside as a skilled wing with a ton of scoring potential.

-Ayana will likely be one of our biggest stockrisers in our next rankings update as he has really impressed our scouts with his play. Ayana is a versatile W/F tweener that can put it on the deck, finish in the paint amongst the trees, knock down 18-footers, and guard several spots at the defensive end of the floor. Want to see him outwork his matchup to long rebounds and 50/50 balls instead of relying on his size/length but he has pretty good instincts and usually knows where the ball is coming off the rim. If he can continue to put on weight and become a lights-out three point shooter, I think he can become a top 25 prospect in the local class by his senior year if not sooner.

Toran brought a lot of excitement to the MISAL conference this year. He’s a strong athlete with long arms, physicality, and an overwhelming frame. Toran highlighted flashes of skill as a creator with the ability to attack off the bounce and apply pressure at the rim. He moves well as a cutter and poses a strong threat to step out and stroke the 17-foot jumper or score around the basket with ease over either shoulder. Toran defends multiple positions, rebounds at a nice rate, and utilizes his physical tools to his advantage…Toran is one of the top sophomores in the DMV area. Will be running with the Team Takeover Club team.

11p 8r 2a 3s 1b vs Takoma
-Really intriguing blend of skills from the sophomore W/F tweener. Ayana can score off of basic spin moves, hook shots, and runners from the low post but also showed the ability to space the floor with his shooting. Ayana opened things up with a C+S 3 from the wing in the secondary break, nabbed a chasedown block off the glass a few possessions later, hit a pick n pop jumper from the top of the key, and found open pockets in the defense along the baseline to get off several 15 foot jumpers that hit nothing but net. He has the size enough to match up pretty well with most forwards and can slide enough to make life difficult for opposing wings as well.

Toran has a unique skill at tracking down rebounds at his size at the forward spot. He’s already tallied some big double-double numbers this season, coming off a recent 24p/11r performance in a win. Toran has nice touch when he’s near the rim and can use his height and length to shoot over defenders in the paint. Flashes some perimeter ability offensively but is much more effective around the paint area. Toran has been gaining more and more respect around the area as a 2-way forward that will get the job done.
