Blanton who’s a safe pair of hands knows his role and made the most of it. He was able to hit shots off the ball as a catch & shoot guy. He converted his foul shots. Blanton finished with 16 points with 3 threes. He is one of the best guards in Lorain county. He would be a great pickup at the small college level for a program that needs a guard who can do a little bit of everything.

Blanton was a prospect I caught with Mac Basketball 16 U but then really noticed his talents at the NEO Youth Elite Christmas Classic. A guard who shoots a very smooth ball off the catch, Blanton had some big time scoring games for Elyria and on the Prep Hoops Circuit. Due to his impressive play on both the grassroots circuit and high school season, Blanton finds himself making his debut in our rankings.

Elyria had a rough game but Blanton was a bright spot as the Junior guard made a lot of shots from the perimeter. Really liked his footwork on his shot and he showed the ability to knock down shots from the catch and off the bounce. A couple tough step-back jumpers caught my eye and overall Blanton showed an impressive feel for the game. This was my first chance to really focus on his game and I left impressed, will want to check him out again in the Spring.
