About Taye

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I can push the pace of the game and slow it down, I can get downhill but also settle for a jumpshot if needed. I am a very supportive teammate and make sure nobody feels like a loss or play is their fault. I pride myself on defense and specialize in it as well, no matter the matchup I'm willing to take it on.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is that if I keep working, keep betting on myself, and keep believing I can go as far as I want. When I step on the court nobody is better than me. I know how hard I work I know the effort I put into this game so when game time comes it doesn't matter who the opponent is I'm trying to prove something.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Im involved in track and work for the city of Fairfax concessions.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned to be humble, inviting, and to lead with confidence because if my teammates aren't as confident in themselves me facing a challenge head on could give them the confidence they need to succeed.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One season I was I was struggling my team had only won a single tournament and my coach instead of lifting us up told us all individually why our dreams of playing at the next level would not pay off. I was told I would not play last 8th grade which had really stuck with me as motivation to prove everybody wrong.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that can prepare me for the pro game that can leave a lasting family impact and a college that can give me something to always remember.
