About Shay
Expert Analysis
Justin Prather | Prep Hoops Scout
Shay is a talented prospect who provides the length and size of a post with the skills of a guard. The best guard skill he provides is his ability to stretch the floor with deep threes. He is a good shooter who can shoot it off the dribble, re-locates, and even step-back style threes. He can handle the ball well enough to set up his shots, which combined with his 6’7 length makes him a tough match-up. He is also good at getting to the basket with very few dribbles and long strides. He can finish with some big-time dunks when he gets there. He finished the scrimmage with Pac Xpress scoring around 14 points, including a couple of deep threes from NBA range. I believe he is an unsigned senior with a few offers. He is worth a look with his talent and unique skill set. A kid that loves the game from what I hear. He will continue to get better and has since I last saw him about 9 months ago.He also happened to average 20 and 10 this season for Eatonville. rn

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?
-Our team completely exceeded our expectations. although every team has state in their mind and wants to win a championship which was our program as well , as a group we felt like did very well and played very well together.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?
-The biggest obstacle we faced during the season I felt like was mental toughness. there were some times where our team would be in a position where we would need to tap into our mentally tough side and finish strong but sometimes we came up short due to that.
What do you think you improved most on the court?
-I think my biggest improvement was my ability to rebound. I haven’t been the best rebounder my entire career until i set a goal for myself this season to average at least 8 rebounds per game and at my height it’s a little difficult. I ended up blowing that out the water and finished my season averaging 10.4 rebounds( except that stat went down to 9.7 during post season)
What are you looking to improve before the next level?
-I’m looking to improve my shot. I feel like as a shooter your shot always needs to be worked on to maintain the ability to shoot. It’s a necessity in the game and to not be able to shoot us a big problem.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?
-The two guys that stood out to me the most were Hunter Klumpar and Griffin Clevenger. Hunter being a developing wing and griffin being a super shifty pg , I think they are 100% due for a breakout season. They both are smart kids who are able to deliver when needed.

Brannon is a 6-foot-5 athlete from Eatonville who really excels on the defensive end, blocking shots at the rim, on jump shots, and guarding a variety of positions. He uses that athleticism to finish high at the rim too and can play from the frontcourt or the wings.
