Scotty Beamish Scotty Beamish 6'0" | SG The King's Academy | 2029 State CA-N Jr. continues to look more and more comfortable in an interchangeable point guard role. He does a good job directing teammates to their spots and keeping the offense organized, showing confidence and awareness that we saw glimpses of the opening game.

When Beamish decides to be aggressive, he can get by his man and use his body to finish in the paint. He also showed off his smooth lefty stroke from the outside, knocking down a three and a midrange jumper. Beamish Jr is not playing like a freshman and will be ready come state playoffs.

Scooty Beamish delivered one of the most impressive freshman performances of the showcase. After back-to-back turnovers late in the third quarter got him benched, Beamish responded with maturity and composure in the fourth — scoring 12 of his 14 points in the final period, including an and-1 and two big threes that sparked Kings Academy’s run.

Beamish plays with confidence and understands how to attack as a true combo guard. He knows how to get to the line, absorbs contact well, and stays shot-ready. When the ball was being swung around the perimeter, he consistently relocated into open gaps and made himself available for clean catch-and-shoot looks.

Scotty Beamish is quickly making a name for himself as one of the best shooters in his class. A lefty with a smooth release, who’s able to gets his shot off quickly. He tends to stay balanced his shot and repeats the same mechanics on every attempt. His consistency shooting the ball from the perimeter forces defenses to stay locked on him at all times.

Beamish isn’t limited to just shooting, though. With a strong frame and a solid handle, he creates space off the bounce and uses his physicality to keep defenders from disrupting his rhythm when pulling up. When he drives, defenders often bounce off, allowing him to finish plays or create for others.

With King’s Academy boasting a deep roster, it will be worth watching to see if Beamish can carve out a supporting role as a freshman. His shooting ability and toughness he’ll have a chance
