A basketball state champion as a freshman, Greer was a monster in the paint for Archbishop Hoban. Ranked 17th in the country according to Rivals for football, the future Ohio State Buckeye is regarded as one of the top offensive tackles in the nation.
The dominant force on the interior as a freshman on the state champion Hoban Knights basketball squad, Greer will look to finish his high school career with a state title on the gridiron. The Knights have come close in Greer’s first three seasons, making two state title games and another final four appearance but haven’t gotten over the hump since the 2020 season. After this year, Greer will be wearing the scarlet and gray in Columbus.
Already committed to Ohio State for football, Greer showed some of the ability that we saw during a freshman year state championship run that made us so intrigued by his ability on the hardwood. After a dominant playoff run, Greer showed us monster interior scoring and soft touch in the paint. The future Ohio State buckeye offensive linemen is a force on the hardwood as well.
Greer put on a show at the Division I state championship game back in 2023 when he helped his team upset Pickerington Central as just a freshman. Greer received his first football offer just a couple weeks after that game from the Ohio State University. Since that day, many power conference schools have offered Greer including powerhouses from the Big 10 and SEC. A nationally ranked offensive line recruit, Greer is a name that high school football recruiting diehards know nationally.
Dominance. Greer was simply dominant in the game I saw him play. They are not many times Greer steps on the court and isn’t the biggest player and he embraces it. He was making everything close around the rim unless he is fouled. He was scoring the ball in a very efficient fashion. Any board that was in his reach, he was going to get it. No real boxing him out with one player. Strong big kid. Also very coordinated and moves really well. I really liked that he played almost the whole game I watched and didn’t seem tired at the end of it. He isn’t just camping out in the post either, very active in the lane and running the floor consistently.
Greer is a unique prospect as the center also dominates on the gridiron as an offensive lineman. One of the most skilled freshman I’ve seen from the center position, Greer has an old school game with a lot of his production coming with his back to the basket. Greer can shoot over his left shoulder, make passes out the post and is physical with weaker big men. I’ll be curious to see how Greer develops as a multi-sport athlete but he’s already a basketball state champion after just his freshman season.
The size of the freshman was the difference as Hoban’s overall size, strength and defensive ability was way too much for the underdog Titans on Saturday night. Greer and Jonas NicholsJonasNichols

dominated the paint, both finishing with double doubles. Greer knocked down an early 3-pointer and had a tip in to give Hoban a comfortable lead that was never in doubt the entire night. Combine the physicality of Greer and Nichols with some flash plays by guard Will ScottWillScott

and the Knights are rolling into tonight’s state championship game. For all the marbles, you can’t really ask for much more for a Sunday night finale, both teams are playing excellent basketball right now and peaking at the right time.
One of the biggest 2026 prospects I’ve scout all year, Greer has good feet for his size and isn’t afraid to get physical with bigs much older than he is. I liked Greer’s ability to score with his back to the basket and he could pass out of double teams. Greer is one of the most productive freshmen bigs in the state and will be a force for years to come.
