Brandon Ramsey | Prep Hoops Scout
This prospect was the reason why we were in the gym on Wednesday night. We’ve heard great things, seen the stats he has put up, and have watched him on film and in the summer, but this was our first opportunity to see him suit up for Bowman Academy. The 6’3″ athletic wing got off to a slow start, but then scored 21 of his game-high 26 points in the second half to lead the Eagles to a 58-44 win over Illiana Christian. His physicality off of the bounce really stood out.

is one of the most gifted athletes and scorers in Indiana’s Class of 2028. Where exactly he stacks up overall is something we admittedly still need to figure out. That will require a trip to Gary to watch Fly and Bowman Academy in person. The 6’4″ sophomore guard averages 23.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 4.6 steals per game.

It has been fun seeing how the 2028 in-state has started to come into their own and one of the top prospects in the class that is doing just that is small forward

. While he has kind of flown under-the-radar being that he is at a smaller school in Bowen Academy, Fly has been playing extremely well during his sophomore season averaging 21.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists for the Eagles. At 6’4, Fly is an explosive athlete with incredible physical tools to back it up. Watch him this week when the Eagles host Calumet (1/6) and Whiting (1/7).

Admittedly, we still aren’t exactly sure to do with Fry in our Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2028 prospect rankings. He is incredibly talented, but we simply haven’t had the chance to see him much at all over the course of the last year. Fly put up absolutely monster numbers as a freshman at Bowman Academy, backed them up with Darius Garland Elite over the summer, and shined at a couple of national-level showcase recently as well. We know he is an explosive athlete with elite physical tools that deserves to be mentioned among the best prospects in the current sophomore class. However, we are admittedly still figuring out exactly where Fly will land long term.

We absolutely still need to watch Fly play more to fine tune our evaluation, but you can’t argue with the production right now. The 6’4″ athletic wing was one of the top scorers in the state among freshmen putting up over 16 points per game for Bowman Academy. He certainly looks the part, so far, as one of the best rising sophomore prospects in The Region.

There was a clip from the summer that featured this 6’4″ wing taking off and absolutely hammering a one hand dunk over a defender that immediately put him on our radar. Fly has undeniable athletic tools and obvious explosive leaping ability. He could be one that sees the floor sooner rather than later at the varsity level for Bowman Academy.
