Edmead is so electric on the basketball court. He’s undersized at the point guard position but has just about every offensive skill you could ask for. He shoots it from three so well – especially off the dribble – and that sets up the rest of his game. Remember prime Kemba stopping on a dime and elevating for long range shots right at the three-point line? That’s Edmead. He can also get into the lane using amazing hesitation and crossover moves and he can finish at the rim with floaters and high touch off the glass. The Hofstra commit is such a special talent and I can’t wait to see what he’s able to do at the next level.

Edmead followed up a strong summer by announcing that he would continue his academic and atheltic careers in New York, at Hofstra University. Edmead, who played his travel ball with the NY Rens, is a high IQ lead guard that has some serious shiftiness off the bounce. He’s elite with the ball in his hands, can change direction quickly, and has a great feel for pace. He’s a gifted scorer that uses craftiness to finish around the rim and consistently knocks down jumpers from behind the arc. He’s a solid positional defender that loves to compete, can really move his feet laterally, and utilizes his quickness to create deflections and steals. Edmead returns to the comforts of home in New York and profiles as a terrific recruit for Hofstra, one that has a chance to make an immediate impact in the back court.

The Long Island native’s transfer to Willston has paid dividends, as he as been given the keys of a talented team that has played a tougher schedule than if he had stayed on the island. A high IQ guard who was already building on a strong summer, it’s been a steady ascent for Edmead over the past year. It is going to be interesting to see how his recruitment develops playing with the Rens on the EYBL circuit this Spring
