led the Eagles with 15 points and would finish 6-12 from the field and more importantly went 3-4 from beyond the arc on Wednesday night. Green’s shooting has always been the main thing that has impressed me about him as a prospect. Green hit timely shots throughout the game whenever Edison would make a run and threaten Del City’s lead. It always seemed like it was Green that had a quick response on the other end. Green is one of the better unsigned 2023 prospects in the state and he’s primed for a big week in Norman.

The Del City Eagle has been a steady riser over the last two seasons. He’s had a natural evolution from a “3 and D” type weapon at the start of his junior season. By the end of the his junior year, he was also more effective in the midrange, making him more a valuable off the ball scorer for for the Eagles. After a strong spring and summer, Green is now a complete scorer, with great size for a combo/off the ball guard. He’s regularly broke the 20 points mark this season, including a strong scoring run against Texas programs in late December.
In recent weeks, the junior college offers have started to roll in for Green. It makes sense, as he’s a no brainer for those programs. His physical profile and scoring traits should make him an immediate impact player for any “JuCo” program in the region.
Being recruited by four year small college programs can be difficult at this time of year. As coaches are focused on their own playoff runs, while also there is an increased emphasis on “staying old” via transfers. Green could become a target for regional small school programs in late March/April, for programs looking to balance out their roster with potential four year contributors. If the 6 foot 4 guard does go the “JuCo” route, he has the profile to potentially develop into a player that could even sneak a low major offer in a season or two.

was someone we wrote about earlier this week after he had another stellar showing on Tuesday night. This came after he performed very well down in Texas last week in a holiday tournament. However, Green makes this feature because of the defense he played. Green was limited in what he could do on the offensive end of the floor. The Eagles were okay with three other players finishing in double figures. But Green’s length was an absolute problem for Norman North’s ball handlers. In fact, Green was part of several stellar defensive performances from guards who did a great job of defending at the rim.

Green would finish with 22 points in the win and this is coming after last week where Green was one of Del City’s top standouts at the Whataburger Classic in Texas. The Eagles went 1-2 against tough Texas competition but Green still stood out for Del City. Last year on a talented Del City team, Green kept popping up and hitting perimeter shots to provide spacing for the tall and athletic Eagles. By the State Tournament last year, he was a key part of the offense, even operating well in the midrange. After a strong summer, Green will play a huge role as a ballhandler and shotmaker for the Class 5A favorites Eagles.

. The senior would be on our short list of players on the verge of a breakout season. He was so good this offseason and showed a variety of skills on the offensive side of the floor. His length on the perimeter is also going to give the Eagles a boost on the defensive end. Especially with McMorris moving over to Douglass, the Eagles will rely on Green more to replace that production this season. Green has a ton of momentum going into this season and we think that his combination of scoring and then length on the defensive end will provide the Eagles with a spark several times this season.

Green first caught the eye nearly a year ago during preseason scrimmages as an intriguing “3 and D” type wing for the deep Del City team. He’s maintained the strong shooting from beyond the arc, but as the season progressed he showed growth in his game with more work in the midrange and improved ball handling responsibilities. He built on this strong ending to his season, with an impressive grassroots season where he displayed improvement in his playmaking ability, with increased chances to operate on the ball.
For other high school programs, Green’s combination of shooting and improved floor game would have him profile as a player who could average around 20 a game this winter. Given the depth of Del City, and their propensity for smothering teams on defense, the every night scoring punch likely won’t be needed. But spike scoring nights, that show off the 2023 guard’s improved scoring chops should still be expected.
