Expert Analysis
Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
A multi-year standout at the Midwest fall league, Ediger consistently makes plays offensively as a scorer and distributor. I was most impressed by Ediger’s left-handed finishing ability off spins and hanging in the air. Ediger also ran the floor and had a couple easy transition layups.

One of the more talented players in the fall league, Ediger was getting it done on both ends of the court on Saturday morning. He opened the day running off two screens for an impressive off-movement 3-pointer. Following that up with a couple transition finishes including a lob layup and a breakaway layup off a pickpocket steal. Also scoring off backdoor cuts, Ediger was moving without the ball which makes it easier for him to score.

It makes sense to start as local as possible with a spotlight of Ashland high schools best when discussing the Ashland University team camp. Ediger was getting buckets in a variety of ways in the two games I caught today. An impressive perimeter shooter, Ediger was making shots off the catch and bounce. Ediger’s most impressive bucket of the day was a crossover move that led into a pull-up 3-pointer from the top of the key. Having to create a majority of the offense himself, Ediger was tasked with beating defenders to either make a shot for himself or a teammate. Ediger is one of the top guards from his area of the state and is poised for a huge junior season with the Arrows.

I caught Ediger at the Midwest Basketball Club Fall League and again with Ashland high school in the winter. Named first team all conference as just a Sophomore, Ediger is able to play on or off the ball for the Arrows. Tough to stop attacking downhill, Ediger found a lot of success attacking with his left hand off the bounce and finishing on that side of the rim. Also a capable shooter from the outside, Ediger is very comfortable knocking down shots off the catch. Ashland has had a nice run of recent graduates at the guard position move on to the college level, Ediger has the talent to follow in the footsteps of guys like Luke Denbow and Eli White.

A new name I learned about this season, Ediger had some huge scoring performances and also battled defensively. A name to watch in north central Ohio over the next few seasons.
