His strong ball control lets him explode off a jab step into a crossover, giving him space to operate. Byrd had a solid season for Mayfield last year, earning a spot on the First Region All-Tournament team. Byrd is a sleeper prospect out of far western Kentucky who is trending up, heading into his Senior season. In this update, Owen goes from 161st to 70th overall and is likely on the cusp of his first NAIA offer as Midway has been recruiting him hard, per his high school coach. We tend to miss on a lot of the far west KY players and Byrd is one of those players who has been overlooked, thus far.
