Good effort throughout, getting ahead in transition and consistently filling the perimeter. Liked his movement without the ball and willingness to keep things moving offensively, swinging the ball to the opposite side rather than letting possessions stall. Defensively, did a nice job turning his hips to stay in front of the ball and showed good discipline closing out, staying down on shot fakes and contesting with a high hand. Also showed a good arc on his three-point shot.

Olby put on a 3-point shooting clinic during his team’s first win of the day. He buried five 3-pointers in the first half, anding the game with 18 points on six deep balls total.

Asked afterwards if that’s par for the course, Olby said that he averaged 4-5 triples per game, and he’s gotten into a rhythm of using his speed to create a quick shot.

Olby’s also clearly earned the trust of his teammates. If he’s open on the outside, they’re going to feed him the rock, whether he’s got a hot hand or not.

Outside of just being a 3-point shooter, Olby does have the ability to get to the basket when he needs to.
