It can be hard for pure point guards to stand out in camp settings that often favor scorers, but Watson was able to defy that notion in making Top-60 all-star honors by simply running the show and making others better. The two-way guard set the tone with dogged on-ball defense, forcing numerous turnovers with his relentless ball pressure. Watson was consistent in dancing to his spots efficiently off the dribble before setting teammates up for easy looks both at the rim and beyond the arc. After a strong summer on the AAU circuit, Watson continues to build momentum heading into his sophomore season with the chance to emerge as a scholarship-level floor general down the line.
