He’s stepping up defensively and getting out and running the break and punishing defenders, and that has opened things up for the team. They will need more of that, and he should be a player who easily wins his matchups.  

Nick Jones has an all-gas, no-brakes approach to the game, and it’s led the Centaurus Warriors to a 6-0 start thus far. Jones has a versatile and well-rounded style of play, boxing out for rebounds on both ends while establishing his presence on defense. I could easily see Jones begin to settle into a nightly double-double caliber consistency once he warms up to the season. The 6’7 big man is having a dominating start and looks to continue to thrive.

Jones had a coming out party this summer, showing he’s ready to lead Centaurus. At 6’7″ he can do it all, score inside, knock down mid range shots and stretch defenses with his three point shooting. Jones is set to make Centaurus a must see basketball team this season. He’s one of those rare do it all players who can impact every possession, no matter where he is on the floor. He can knock down shots from deep with confidence, then turn around and bully his matchup in the post on the very next trip. On the glass he rebounds at a high clip simply because he’s always in the right spot and refuses to be outworked. Defensively his positioning stands out as he reads plays well, steps in at the perfect time and has real shot blocking ability. Add in how smooth he runs the floor in transition, and you’ve got a player who elevates everyone around him

Jones has emerged as a highly impactful two way player with the versatility to contribute on both ends of the floor. Possessing a strong frame and ideal size, he’s capable of defending multiple positions effectively, using his physicality and footwork to guard on the perimeter as well as in the post. He’s a relentless presence in the paint, consistently battling for rebounds and altering or blocking shots with solid timing and positioning. Offensively Jones continues to develop into a more complete scorer. He finishes well around the rim through contact and has expanded his game with a reliable midrange jumper and improved three point shooting, demonstrating significant growth and work ethic. A true stretch big, Jones has developed a consistent jumpshot and annihilates defenders who get in his way. Sending shots away is one of Jones’ biggest strengths, utilizing his 6’7 frame to have his way against opponents.

Nick ran the floor hard and consistently knocked down shots when spotted up. He played his game with confidence and composure under pressure.
