Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Jones brings a rare blend of size and versatility to the next level at Rose-Hulman. At 6’7, he’s a tough matchup as a true three level scorer who can stretch the floor, attack off the dribble and finish inside. His breakout last summer carried into the season, showing consistency and confidence in his game. What really stands out is his motor and that he plays hard, embraces defense, rotates well and looks to impact plays with blocks and rebounds. With his skill set and effort, he has the tools to contribute early and continue developing into a high impact player at the next level

. Jones uses all of his 6’7 frame to take over in games. Centaurus is currently riding a 5-game winning streak and looks to extend that behind its interior presence. He’s averaging 10 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and a block a game. He’s stepping up defensively and getting out and running the break and punishing defenders, and that has opened things up for the team. They will need more of that, and he should be a player who easily wins his matchups.

Nick Jones has an all-gas, no-brakes approach to the game, and it’s led the Centaurus Warriors to a 6-0 start thus far. Jones has a versatile and well-rounded style of play, boxing out for rebounds on both ends while establishing his presence on defense. I could easily see Jones begin to settle into a nightly double-double caliber consistency once he warms up to the season. The 6’7 big man is having a dominating start and looks to continue to thrive.

Jones has gone from under the radar to a name worth knowing after a breakout summer. His size and length immediately stand out, but it’s his mobility and ability to run the floor that make him such a valuable asset. He is a walking double double every time he steps on the court. Offensively, Jones is highly effective around the rim and has shown the touch to knock down mid range shots, making him a versatile scoring option inside. Defensively, Jones has been nothing short of outstanding. His footwork and technique in the post forces opponents into tough looks, while his timing as a shot blocker gives his team a major rim protecting presence. Combine that with his rebounding ability and knack for igniting transition, and it’s clear Jones is primed for a big season and is quickly becoming one of the most impactful two way players at his position
