Swindell is one of those guys that might not be a fit everywhere but is 100% a fit somewhere because he’s not your traditional big or wing. Swindell is a classic front-court mismatch guy and North Carolina has produced so many of these “types” over the years. They can’t fit in any system but Swindell can really score it from every level, rebound both backboards, and exploit slower bigs off the bounce. Swindell brings a ton of energy to the table and checks all of the intangible boxes. Swindell can bully smaller wings with his strong frame, stretch the floor with his shooting, and make traditional bigs look like they don’t know what to do when trying to guard him. Lewis Walker, Nick Farrar, etc. We’ve seen these guys have success in situations that work, Swindell possesses a lot of those abilities.

Although his team was led in the Quarterfinals by the trio of guards that put up monster numbers, he is fully capable of producing at the same level. He can play multiple positions on the floor, scores the ball with efficiency but also plays the game at his own pace.

Swindell is one of North Carolina’s premier mismatch forwards with his inside/out ability, embracing of physicality, and willingness to fit in amongst other talented players. Caldwell Academy is 19-9 on the year and the #2 overall seed in the 2A division. Swindell posses the ability to handle the ball in space and initiate offense from time to time. He’s a high quality catch and shoot option from beyond the arc. Swindell often exploits mismatches, using his slick handle and footwork to abuse slower bigs off the bounce, or just bully smaller guards when presented with that matchup. He’s got real touch around the rim + the in-between area and is a threat for put-backs with his offensive rebounding instinct. Caldwell is a real threat to win it all and defend their 2A title. If Swindell can be a major factor on that run (hint: he will) I fully expect more next level programs to jump into the mix with him.

Swindell is such an elite mismatch for any team to have to use. He’s a 3 level scoring and bruising forward with a handle and feel. He’s a very present rebounder at both backboards and provides an incredible option for his team as a go to guy offensively. Too big for guards, too quick and skilled for bigs, Swindell understands who is in front of him and how he can utilize his gifts to take advantage. Once he gets into a college strength and conditioning program, the dividends on that will be obvious and he’ll only be a better version of himself. Swindell should find himself as a great late addition to a recruiting class all while trying his best to defend that NCISAA 2A title at Caldwell.

Swindell finds himself at No. 39 in the latest rankings market corrections for the 2026 class in NC. He was quite the presence in the frontcourt and on the wing for Caldwell Academy this season, averaging 12.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game as they took home the NCISAA 3A State Championship this past March. He’s got a strong frame at 6-foot-4 which allows him to operate at multiple roles on the hardwood, especially as a presence rebounding the ball. He racked up seven double-doubles while shooting 60 percent from the field as a junior. He’s a prospect for DI and DII programs in the region to get on their radar. He’ll suit up with Team Next Generation out of Georgia on the NXTPro Circuit this spring/summer.

Swindell is a versatile presence in the 2026 rankings at Caldwell Academy for DI and DII programs to get on their radar. He’s shown he can operate virtually at any position on the floor given his strong frame, athleticism and high IQ. He’s shown he can do whatever is needed on the floor to help his team win and doesn’t ever waver on the floor. Pure energy guy on the floor who a college program would love to have.

Think Junkyard Dog mentality with this one. There wasn’t anything Swindell couldn’t do for Caldwell Academy as he acted as their top rebounder, bruiser in the paint as well as their creator off the bounce. He did well to showcase his game in a variety of ways and it helps he can handle the ball and get to the rim at will. He’s a prospect more college programs in the region should get eyes on.

I was very impressed by Swindell this weekend in Bermuda Run. Despite the fact that he was the youngest player on the floor, Neal looked bigger and stronger than anyone else. He was dominant on both ends of the floor and in a multitude of ways. On offense, he was an efficient scorer from the inside out, knocking down multiple threes or using his body to work in the post. But it was his defensive prowess that stood out to me most. He showed lots of versatility, mainly guarding the opponents’ Center but also switching onto guards and causing them problems too. He has great instincts as a shot blocker and the athleticism to reach shots others can’t. In Team Swish ‘s matchup with Upward Stars Gold, Swindell finished with 19 Points and 4 Blocks.

Swindell has been quite the presence for Team Swish on the grassroots scene this cycle while showing off his versatility at 6-foot-4. He’s a sizeable presence who knows how to utilize his length and strong frame to his advantage as he creates matchup issues for opponents while also showcasing his versatility defensively. He’s shown he can operate at a number of positions on the hardwood given his effort and activity. He’ll be a prospect to watch on the hardwood for Caldwell Academy on the NCISAA stage in 2024-25.
