MJ Thomas, a 6’7 forward at Catholic High School in the 757, is a name that will be widely talked about moving forward. Sometimes he gets overshadowed by all the talent Catholic has on their roster, but it’s easy to see the value he brings and the long-term upside in his game. He scores well inside, is a great rebounder, and does an excellent job finishing through contact. A high-motor athlete who uses his body well at such a young age.

Thomas is a strong, physical and hard playing frontcourt prospect who continues to improve in the 2029 class. The sophomore embraces playing on the block, where he uses his strength effectively and shows a good understanding of how to establish position and find scoring angles in the paint. Thomas also plays with a high motor and is a productive rebounder at both ends.

Thomas is an intriguing, versatile prospect with the ability to impact the game both inside and outside at the offensive end of the floor. An above average athlete, he has improved as a perimeter shot maker, can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim and is able to play effectively on the block. Thomas moves well without the basketball and his combination of size, athleticism, and versatility allows him to defend multiple positions.
