Evans is one of the best guards in the 757 regardless of class, and he’s going to be their go-to guy on a team that should make another deep run in the state tournament this year. The 6’1” guard is naturally athletic and gifted with the ability to get wherever he wants on the floor, he’s a legitimate three level scorer off the bounce, he can create space and knock down tough shots and is great in isolation and ball screens, and he makes good decisions and makes it easy for his teammates to score too.

We caught Evans in May hitting a game-winner for Boo Williams in an EYBL game and the sophomore continued to impress with his smooth attack on Saturday afternoon. He looks to have added an inch or two to his frame with still further length to grow into, nice speed in the open floor, and evolving athleticism at the rim. Evans impressed with a slick handle and polished footwork in the lane, showing an advanced sense for utilizing contact and manipulating space to find windows to finish inside. There were stretches of the game where he fell into the background to an extent but the flashes he showed off the dribble were as eye-catching as any guard we saw all weekend.

Evans is a skilled ball handling guard with good positional size and impressive playmaking ability. He is a very good passer who sees the floor well and is difficult for defenders to keep out of the paint. Evans is especially dangerous in the open floor, where he uses his speed to push the pace, and is also a capable perimeter shot maker. He has plenty of upside as a point guard prospect in the 2029 class.

Evans is a wizard with the basketball in his hands. The rising sophomore has high level quickness and positional size, but it is his changes of pace and footwork that make him extremely difficult to defend. He can finish in the paint in a variety of ways and can also draw two defenders and find open teammates. Evans is a capable and improving perimeter shot maker, which will make him an even tougher matchup for opposing defenders.

Evans was one of the 15U division’s assist leaders in Atlanta, showcasing his impact as a true playmaker. The freshman has good size for a point guard and is a high-level athlete who plays through contact and consistently creates advantages off the dribble. He can finish with either hand in the paint and shows strong instincts as a facilitator. Defensively, he’s active and engaged, particularly on the ball, making him an intriguing two-way prospect in the 2029 class.

Evans earned All-District Second Team honors as a freshman after averaging 11 points and 6 assists per game, an impressive debut season at the varsity level. An athletic ball-handling guard with good size, he has the ability to play through contact and create advantages off the dribble. Evans does a very good job getting into the paint, where he can either finish himself or find open teammates as a distributor. With his combination of size, athleticism, and playmaking ability, he is a young backcourt prospect with significant upside moving forward.
