About Mitchell

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My game is about pushing tempo, forcing the defense into difficult decisions, and getting my teammates involved offensively. Defensively I want to keep my man out of the pain and being aggressive in help defense to help force turnovers.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’ve always been attracted to the skills that were required to play basketball of leadership, grit, compassion and teamwork. The playing of sports has helped me to create healthy habits and improve my personal physical development for when my playing days are over. Sports has taught me to set goals and go after them.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I volunteer at my church for different events. I am part of I-Club which is a peer leadership group at my school. I attend meetings and hold a leadership role for Fellowship of Christian Athletes at my school. I am a Freshmen Mentor at my school to help freshmen make the transition from middle school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have had challenges in my life where I got hurt falling off my bike to dealing with a family member working through a significant illness. Each time I face a challenge I learn more about being comapssionate, patient, and focused on the recovery and not what put us in the situation. This way I keep a positive attitude and work on moving forward.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go to college to study business management or education, so colleges that have a good reputation in these majors will be very attractive to me. I am hoping to pursue a career in business or teaching. I continue to improve as a player and a leader with continued skill development in my own time and personal study on how to be a better leader.
