McCollum has battled injuries throughout his senior season, but when he’s been available for Olentangy Orange, he’s been outstanding. McCollum’s size and shooting ability is incredible valuable and he’s been one of the most consistent producers on the grassroots circuit with Ohio United. Committed to Division II powerhouse Hillsdale, McCollum fits what a lot of their prior guards do well on the court.

McCollum is just a bucket. Pretty simple. He can score at all three levels but does most of his damage on the first and third levels. He has some really good moves to get the defense off balance and pull-ups at the perfect time. He leads the game in scoring with 17 points. He had a tough fadeaway running jumper when attacking the basket which was simply a next-level move. He has very good control of his body when attacking the basket. I believe he will be an instant impact at Hillsdale next year if he gets bigger.

McCollum impressed me in both of the games I saw him play on Saturday for Orange. He just kept it consistent. His very pretty and smooth jumper allowed him to knock down multiple threes. He didn’t just rely on his shooting ability for scoring though. Once he hit a couple he started finding his lanes to attack the rim. Had some very good finishes and strong takes.

McCollum is the tallest player featured in this article and uses that ability to his advantage by seeing over the defense and making passes that smaller players can’t make. McCollum is another deadeye shooter who had some huge games for Ohio United this July. McCollum is a prospect who seems to produce every time I watch him play, which is tough to do. McCollum picked up an offer from Ohio Dominican recently and will likely attract more and more Division II and NAIA interest as the winter comes around. Expectations are high for Olentangy Orange and McCollum is a big reason why.
