Alston still led the way for his squad with 18 points but he exhibited a much more concerted effort to get his teammates involved and it came in handy down the stretch as he took home MVP honors in the Navy bracket for Franklinton High. He knocked down three early 3-pointers to set the tone on the perimeter then found his teammates in space to squeeze out a 56-51 victory in the end to take home the championship.
