Parrish Rushing
Rushing was active as ever for the Franklinton Rams frontcourt as he paced their offensive attack in the paint. He scored 17 of his 20 points in the first half to overwhelm the Falcons in their semifinal victory. He’s a 6-foot-4 forward that battles on the boards and holds his own down low with good hands and touch around the rim.
Alston was stellar once again in his second game of the South Granville Holiday Invitational. He finished with a game-high 29 points, showing off his ability to do a little bit of everything. He knocked down three 3-pointers, went 4-of-4 from the free-throw line and showed he could get to the paint and finish in traffic. He’s a stock-riser in the Granville County area.
Koloszar battled through some foul trouble in the first half but he bounced back in the second with his energy and effort. He finished with 17 points, showing off his ability to attack in the paint and even knocked down a 3-pointer. He’s another unsigned senior who turned heads this week with Green Hope High.
Cuffe didn’t let the moment effect him though his shot wasn’t “falling”, he still showed he could be a factor with his defense and prowess as a rebounder. He’s a junior name to watch with Green Hope High with good size and confidence at 6-foor-3.
Burnette showed off his ability to be a 3-point threat and distributor at the point guard spot for Wakefield High. They were in a barn-burner with CB Aycock and though they didn’t come out on top, Burnette showed he could knock down the 3-ball with four made 3-pointers to the tune of 15 points. As he puts that with his ability to be an excellent passer, look for his stock to rise in the 2024 class.
Prince was another top performer on Day 2 for CB Aycock High as his 3-pointer in the final seconds lifted his squad to a 63-62 victory. He finished with 26 points and showed why he’s a dangerous backcourt mate alongside Jaidyne Dunn Jaidyne Dunn 6’1″ | CG CB Aycock | 2023 State NC . He scored the team’s first 12 points to show his growth as an instant-offense threat at 6-foot-2. He knocked down four 3-pointers and got to the paint when he wanted to to show off what he could do. He’ll be a hot commodity on the grassroots scene very soon.
Highlights
Dunn was a lot more aggressive at the lead guard spot for CB Aycock High and it came in handy for them down the stretch. He was right behind Prince with 17 points and knocked down a 3-pointer while showing he could blow by defenders and finish in traffic. As he shows off his ability to turn defense into offense, look for his recruitment to grow in the 2023 class.
Spencer cooled off a bit for Wakefield High’s offense as he finished with just 14 points and they came up just short in the end. He still showed he can be effective in the pick-and-pop and roll game with his mobility and shooting stroke. He knocked down two 3-pointers and got to the free-throw line as well.
Benjamin was active once again on the wing and in the Wakefield backcourt. He was another double-figure scorer for them, finishing with 13 points as he showed he could clean up on the glass and move without the ball for easy scores. He’s an unsigned senior worth attention by DIII and JUCO programs.

Sam Frye
Frye came through in the clutch for the Wake Forest Cougars in a big way on Day 3 in a double-overtime thriller. He finished with 12 points with 10 of his points coming in the fourth quarter and overtime. He showed he could space the floor and find openings for his shot-making ability when needed. He’s another unsigned senior forward DIII and JUCOs should get their eyes on this season.
Alston picked up where he left off on Day 1 and really kick things into gear for Wake Forest High. He posted 26 points to carry the load for them in the double-overtime 70-68 victory. He really made a concerted effort to get to the free-throw line down the stretch and it paid off as he went 9-for-10 from the line. He’s another 2024 prospect due for a breakout season and starting to show it after his performance in the South Granville Holiday Invitational.
Highlights
Grant is a confident guard that slowly found his stride over the Cougars’ 3-game stint in the South Granville Holiday Invitational. Eight of his 12 points came in the game’s fourth quarter and overtime periods. He was another player in the Wake Forest backcourt that stepped up in a big way in the double OT victory to lift them into the finals on Friday. He’s an unsigned senior guard for DII and DIII programs to keep an eye on.
Fife was hard to stop once again on Day 3 for the Sanderson High Spartans as he paced their offense with 20 points. He went 8-of-9 from the free-throw line and 10 of his 20 points came in the final frame as he tried to lift his squad, but in the end, the trio of scorers from Wake Forest were too much. He’s a guard who’s stock will certainly rise in the 2025 class as he leads a scrappy Sanderson squad.
Roberts stepped up in a big way for South Granville High at the lead guard spot. He finished with 18 points, all coming in the second half as he overcame some stifling defense to lift the Vikings when things mattered down the stretch. He continues to show his growth as more than just a scoring threat with his ability to get others going within the offense.
Highlights
Honeycutt showed his presence in the paint for Orange High as one of their focal points on offense. He showed he could finish in traffic with his 14 points with 10 coming in the first half. He’s a raw, young name to keep eyes on in the 2024 class with the Panthers squad.
Cloer cooled off a bit on Day 3 for Orange High though he still finished with 15 points and showed he could use his length to draw defenders in and get to the free-throw line. He’s still navigating as a young prospect in the 2026 class but he showed flashes of his potential, knocking down 3-pointers and creating on the wing.
Wade is a floor general to keep eyes on with Orange High. He didn’t look for his offense much on Day 2 but on Day 3, he was a lot more active on the scoring front, finishing with 16 points while showing he could knock down shots on the perimeter and off the bounce and get to the free-throw line. He went 5-for-7 from the line despite the result for the Panthers at the buzzer.
Green only finished with six points but his final layup at the buzzer proved to be enough as the Vikings battled back from down eight with roughly a minute left to find a way to win in the end. He showed off his aggressiveness with his ability to go coast-to-coast as time winded down to put the Vikings in Friday’s title game against Wake Forest in the South Granville Holiday Invitational.
